WEST COVINA'CITY COUNCIL

Mayor Sanderson called to order the special meeting of the West Covina City Council at 6:05 p.m. in the
City Manager's Conference Room at City Hall, 1444 W. Garvey Avenue, West Covina.
ROLL CALL Mayor Sanderson, Mayor Pro Tern Herfert
Councilmembers Lane, Touhey
Absent Councilmember Hernandez
Others Present: Pasmant, Hoppe, M Gorman, M. Castanon, P. Morin
PUBLIC COMMENT ON ITEMS ON THE AGENDA
Fredrick Sykes, West Covina resident, addressed the Chung v. City
of West Covina case and expressed his concern that making a
decision to settle is pre -mature as a judge hasn't reviewed the case.
If settlement is best option, a judge should review.
Mayor Sanderson stated a judge has reviewed the case during
mediation.
CLOSED SESSION Mayor Sanderson commenced the closed session at 6:10 p.m. to
discuss the following matters:
CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL — EXISTING
LITIGATION
Pursuant to Government Code § 54956.9(a)
• Chung vs. City of West Covina
• Coppi vs. City of West Covina
ADJOURNMENT Mayor Sanderson adjourned the meeting at 8:05 p.m.
REPORTING OUT FROM CLOSED SESSION
Deputy City Attorney Gorman reported no final action was taken
on either case and there was nothing further to report. He further
reported that the Chung v. City of West Covina matter will be
continued on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 6:00 pm. in the City
Manager's Conference Room.
