SPECIAL MEETING OF THE
WEST COVINA CITY COUNCIL
March 20, 2008
Mayor Lane called to order the special meeting of the West Covina City Council at 8:25 a.m. at Big
League Dreams facility, 2100 Azusa Avenue, West Covina.

Absent: Hernandez, Sanderson
Others Present: Pasmant, Fields, Hoppe, Durbin, Samaniego, Bachman, Mclsaac,
Smilowitz, Morgan, Segalla, Freeland, Freeland, Lee, Chung
PUBLIC COMMENT ON ITEMS ON THE AGENDA
Royal Brown, West Covina resident, thanked the Board of
Supervisors for a grant to the Senior Center which augmented the
meals program and requested monetary support for Shadow Oak
Park.
Glenn Kennedy, West Covina resident, thanked the City Council
for their support with the Big League Dreams project.
MEETING WITH SUPERVISOR MICHAEL ANTONOVICH
ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Lane opened the meeting welcoming Supervisor
Antonovich and introductions were made.
Adrian Williams of Big League Dreams presented a brief overview
of the Big League Dreams facility and sports activities.
City staff made brief presentations regarding the following issues:
• Reimbursement of Traffic Citation Revenues (Tom Bachman)
• Community Services Recreation Project Update
Los Angeles County/City of West Covina partnership programs
o Senior Lunch Program (Smilowitz)
o Pathway/walking trails (Morgan)
Following the discussion of City issues, Adrian Williams of Big
League Dreams gave Supervisor Antonovich and staff a tour of
Big League Dreams.
Mayor Lane adjourned the meeting at 9:36 a.m.
