SPECIAL MEETING OF THE
WEST COVINA CITY COUNCIL
October 26, 2004
Mayor Miller called the special meeting of the West Covina City Council to order at 7:18 pm in the
Management Resource Center at City Hall, Room 314, 1444 W. Garvey Avenue, West Covina.
ROLL CALL Mayor Miller, Councilmembers Herfert, Hernandez, Wong
Absent: Mayor Pro Tern Sanderson (City Clerk Berry read a prepared
statement of Ms. Sanderson)
Others Present: Pasmant, Alvarez-Glasman, Freeland, Fields, Wills, Berry
PUBLIC COMMENT ON ITEMS ON THE AGENDA
Mayor Miller reminded the audience that in the case of special
meetings, comments must only address items on the agenda.
John Scheuplein, West Covina resident, explained his position in
not supporting the City's continued membership in the San Gabriel
Valley Council of Governments.
Bruce Leinbach, West Covina resident, expressed his reasons for
the City's continued membership in the San Gabriel Valley
Council of Governments.
PAYMENT OF SAN GABRIEL VALLEY COUNCIL OF
GOVERNMENTS — FY 2004/2005 DUES
Council reviewed the staff report and reiterated their individual
positions for approving the payment the annual dues or not.
Motion by Hernandez and seconded by Herfert to receive
and file the staff report.
A substitute motion was offered by Wong and seconded by
Miller to pay the dues as recommended in the staff report. Motion
failed 2-2.
ADJOURNMENT Motion by Wong and seconded by Hernandez to adjourn the
meeting at 7:57 pm. Motion carried 4-0.
