SPECIAL MEETING
WEST COVINA CITY COUNCIL
JANUARY 20, 2004
Mayor Herfert called to order the special meeting of the West Covina City Council at 6:15 p.m. in the
City Manager's Office at City Hall, 1444 W. Garvey Avenue, West Covina.
ROLL CALL Mayor Herfert, Mayor Pro Tem Miller, Councilmembers
Hernandez (arrived at 6:20 p.m.), Sanderson, and Wong
Others Present: Pasmant, Alvarez-Glasman, Fields, McIsaac, Nichols
PUBLIC COMMENT ON ITEMS ON THE AGENDA
Milford Walker Stated his opposition to a Wal-Mart in the City of West Covina
believing it will eliminate small business.
Charles Ilee Stated his opposition to Wal-Mart coming into West Covina.
Doran Barnes Executive Director of Foothill Transit, made the following
comments: I) Thanked the City Manager for getting an
abandoned house demolished, and 2) Foothill Transit would like
to place a park & ride site at the corner of Sunset and West Covina
Parkway (next to Wescove Theater). Foothill Transit would not be .
requesting any financial support from the Cityand wondered if the
City needed a proposal.
CLOSED SESSION Mayor Herfert commenced the closed session at 6:28 p.m. to
discuss the following matters; however, Mayor Pro Tern Miller
excused himself during the labor negotiations.
