SPECIAL MEETING
WEST COVINA CITY COUNCIL
October 14, 2003
Mayor Herfert called to order the special meeting of the West Covina City Council at 9:45 pm in the
City Manager's Office at City Hall, 1444 W. Garvey Avenue, West Covina,
ROLL CALL Mayor Herfert, Mayor Pro Tern Miller
Councilmembers Hernandez, Sanderson, Wong
Others Present: I Pasmant, Adams, Chung, Fields
PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS ON THE AGENDA No comments offered.
CLOSED SESSION Mayor Herfert commenced closed session at 9:45 pm to discuss the
following matter:
CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL —
ANTICIPATED LITIGATION
Pursuant to Government Code $ 54956.9(b)
One item relating to existing agreements with Big League Dreams.
Deputy City Attorney Adams and staff briefed the City Council on
this issue and the Council considered a settlement proposal.
Staff was directed to draft an amendment to the current
agreement with Big League Dreams and authorized the City
Manager to execute the document on behalf of the City. In
addition, staff was directed to bring this matter back as an
informational item on the next regular City Council agenda.
The vote to approve the settlement proposal and
amendment was 3-2 with Miller and Wong voting no.
The closed session concluded at 10:25 pm.
ADJOURNMENT Mayor Herfert adjourned the meeting at 10:25 pm. The City
Council reconvened downstairs in the Community Room on the
first floor to finish the Redevelopment Agency agenda.
