SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE
WEST COVINA CITY COUNCIL
November 30, 2001
Mayor Wong called to order the special meeting of the West Covina City Council at 7:55 am at the
Senior Citizens' Center, 2501 E. Cortez Avenue, West Covina.

DISCUSSION ON ITEMS OF MUTUAL CONCERN
Code Enforcement Code Enforcement
City staff commenced a discussion on the need to
coordinate code enforcement regulations along the County/City
border area between Valinda and Lark Ellen. It was suggested that
one contact person be assigned to the area for the convenience of
the residents and the enforcement departments.
Supervisor Antonovich agreed and assigned that task to the
Los Angeles County Office of Unincorporated Area Services.
West Covina Library West Covina Library
City staff reported on the need to replace the ceiling tiles in
the library. Community Library Manager Siggins also reported
that the library would be shut down for two weeks in January for
the upgrade to the circulation desk.
Supervisor Antonovich instructed Los Angeles County
Librarian Todd to review the need to replace the ceiling tile and to
update the City on those findings.
County Funding County Fin edit
City staff discussed upcoming projects that would be
eligible for County funding. The sought the support of Supervisor
Antonovich when the time comes for applying for grants:
* Community Center at Cameron Park
* Cultural/performing Arts Center
* Senior Citizens Center
* Municipal Pool
* Big League Dreams
* Street Paving

Supervisor Antonovich expressed his willingness to assist
the City with funding opportunities on the various projects if funds
are made available.
Mayor Wong adjourned the meeting at 8:45 am.
