SPECIAL MEETING OF THE
WEST COVINA CITY COUNCIL
March 3, 1998
The special meeting of the West Covina City Council was called to order at 5:45 p.m. by
Mayor Wong in the City Manager's Conference Room, City Hall, 1444 West Garvey Avenue,
West Covina, California.
ROLL CALL Mayor Wong, Mayor Pro Tem Melendez, Councilmembers
Howard, Touhey
Others Present Glover, Collier, Martyn, Francis
Councilmember Herfert arrived at 6:05 p.m.
I. PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS ON THE AGENDA None offered.
II. CLOSED SESSION
Mayor Wong recessed the special meeting to conduct a closed session to discuss the
following matters:
CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL: Anticipated Litigation
Pursuant to Government Code §54956 9(b): Significant exposure to litigation
COFERENCE WITH LABOR NEGOTIATOR: Kermit Francis
Pursuant to Government Code 554957 6
West Covina Police Officers' Association
CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL: Existing Litigation
Pursuant to Government Code §54956.9(a):
* Bean vs City of West Covina
* City of West Covina vs Spence, et at.
The closed session concluded at 7:25 p.m.
ADJOURNMENT Motion by Touhey, seconded by Herfert to adjourn the meeting at
7:25 p.m. Motion carried 5-0.
