SPECIAL MEETING OF THE
WEST COVINA CITY COUNCIL
JUNE 23, 1997
The special meeting of the West Covina City Council, scheduled for 5:30 pm, was called to order by Mayor
Wong at 6:35 pm in the City Hall Management Resource Center, 1444 W. Garvey Avenue, West Covina.

TRANSMISSION OF ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE BOARD OF
ADMINISTRATION OF THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM (PERS) AND
THE CITY OF WEST COVINA

Ordinance 1999 - ORDINANCE NO. 1999 - AN URGENCY ORDINANCE
PERS amendment OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA,
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE
CONTRACT BETWEEN THE BOARD OF ADMINISTRATION
OF THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM AND
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA AND
DECLARING THE URGENCY THEREOF
Motion by Howard and seconded by Melendez to waive
further reading of the ordinance and adopt. Motion carried by roll call

STRUCTURE FOR EMPLOYEES IN THE WEST COVINA MID -
MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION; WEST COVINA CONFI-
DENTIAL/EXEMPT ASSOCIATION; WEST COVINA PUBLIC
SAFETY DISPATCHERS' ASSOCIATION; SBPEA (GENERAL

DRAFT PROPOSAL TO THE CITY OF COVINA FOR FIRE PROTECTION, EMERGENCY
MEDICAL, AND RELATED SERVICES
City Manager Starbird stated that the Finance Department is double
checking the figures.contained in the report. He suggested that since
Council has already reviewed the preliminary report, they may want to
authorize him to deliver it to Covina no later than Monday, June 30,

Motion by Melendez and seconded by Touhey to authorize the
City Manager to deliver the proposal to the City of Covina no later
than June 30, 1997. Motion carried 4-0.
Motion by Touhey and seconded by Melendez to adjourn the meeting
at 6:47 pm. Motion carried 4-0.
