SPECIAL MEETING
WEST COVINA CITY COUNCIL
June 14, 1993
• The special meeting of the West Covina City Council was called to order by Mayor
Jennings at 7:30 am in the City Manager's Conference Room at City Hall, 1444 W.
Garvey Avenue, West Covina.

City Manager Starbird, Wylie, Thomas, Yoshizaki,
Greene
MEETING WITH SUPERVISOR MICHAEL ANTONOVICH
Topics of discussion involved:
a) The tax allocation agreement regarding the
Redevelopment Plan Amendment will go before the Board
of Supervisors in two weeks.
b) The state budget process and its impact on the
City as well as the County was discussed.
c) Regarding the Civic Center parking structure, City
staff reviewed the City's proposal to reinforce the "-
parking structure with 2/3 reimbursement from Los
Angeles County beginning with 1997. The County will
respond at a later'date to this proposal.
d) The status of the Veterans Memorial was reviewed,
noting that the project is back in the hands of the
veterans' groups.
e) In relation to graffiti and gangs, it was noted
that greater attention is needed from within the County
area, especially the area represented by Gloria Molina.
f) The status of a Materials Recovery Facility in
West Covina was reviewed and particularly the need for
including such a project in the County Solid Waste
Management Plan.
ADJOURNMENT Motion by Wong, seconded by Jennings, and unanimously
carried to adjourn the meeting at 8:45 am.
