MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIF.
January 12, 1956
Meeting wao called to order by Mayor Hurst at 8030 p,m, at the West Covina City Hall,
Present. Mayor Hurst, Councilmen Sperline and Van Horn,
Absent: Councilmen Kay and Brown,
Others Present: City Clerk,
SPECIAL ME TING Mayor Hurst stated that this special meeting was caller: for the
purpose of considering a resolution acknowledging the receipt of
notice of ntention to circulate petition for annexation to the City of West Covina of
certain in abited territory contiguous to this city on the north together with reasons
therefor a d an affidavit of publication in the West Covina Tribune,
Mayor Hurs� then asked the City Clerk if the necessary peoples were on file,
City Clerk reported'. "That notices of this special meeting were delivered to and signed
for by all members"of the Council. That all members had in-
dicated on the signed copies of the notice whether or not they could attend this
special me ting. That Mayor Hurst, Councilmen Sperline and Van Horn indicated they
would atte d. Councilmen Kay and Brown indicated they would be unable to attend.
That there is on file in the City Clerks office a Notice of Intention to Circulate
Petition c vering Northerly Annexation District No. 139 together with a statement of
reasons th refore and an Affidavit of Publication in the West Covina Triloune, an
adjudicate paper in the City of West Covina, on January 12, 1956.
"r have al o a Resolution prepared by the City Attorney acknowledging receipt of the
above mentioned papers. Does the Council wish to act'on this Resolution?"
Motion by ouncil.man Sperline, seconded by Councilman Van Horn,.and carried, that
Resolution No, 872 be read.
City Clerk introduced and read Resolution No. 872 6A RESCLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CI7 OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORN?A, ACKNOWLEDGING THE RECEIPT OF THE NOTICE OF
INTENTION 0 CIRCULATE PETITION FOR THE ANNEXATION BY THE CITY OF WEST COVINA OF
CERTAIN I BITER TERRITORY CONTIGUOUS TO SAID CITY ON THE NORTH, TOGETHER WITH STATE-
MENT OF AND APPROVING THE 'CIRCULATION OF PETITION THEREON.n Motion
by CouncTONS,THEREFOR;
n Sperline, seconded by Councilman Van Horn, that Resolution No. 872 be
adopted.sked on roll call as follows:
Ayes: ' Councilmen Van Horn, Sperline, Hurst.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilmen Kay and Brown.
Mayor Hurst stated that no more business was to come before this Council at this
meeting.
