December. 2, 1955
Meeting was called to -order at 7.18. P.M. in the West Covina City Council
.Chambers by Mayor Hurst.
Present. Councilmen Kay, Sperline, Brown and Hurst
Absent. Councilman. Van Horn
' Also Present. City Clerk"
City. Clerk stated that he had on file acknowledgments of receipt of notice
calling this special meeting from the four Councilmen present and he read
a telegram from Councilman Van Horn in. Bakersfield, dated December 2,
12.24 Po Ma giving.his' authority for the Council to proceed with. this meeting
in his absence.
City Clerk alsp ;stated that he had on file the necessary ''Affidavit of Publica-
tion" in the Covina Argus Citizen on December 1, 1955 of "Notice of'Intention
to Circulate Petition Relating to Annexation of Certain Territory to the City
of West Covina Under the Annexation Act of 1913"0
City Clerk presented and read Resolution No. 846 "A RESOLUTION OF THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, ACKNOW-
LEDGING THE RECEIPT OF NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CIRCULATE
PETITION FOR THE ANNEXATION BY THE CITE' OF WEST COVINA OF
CERTAIN INHABITED TERRITORY CONTIGUOUS. TO SAID CITY ON THE
NORTH,. TOGETHER W.ITH'STATEMENT.OF REASONS THEREFOR, AND
APPROVING THE CIRCULATION OF PETITION THEREON, " Motionby
Councilman Sperline, seconded by Councilman Brown, that Resolution No.
846 be adopted. Passed on roll call as follows.
Ayes- Councilmen Kay; Sperline, Brown, Hurst
