CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA
May 14, 1955
Meeting was called to order at 10.435 p.m. by Mayor Joe Hurst.
Present: Councilmen Hurst, Kay, Van Horn, Sperline.
Absent, Councilman Brown.
Also Present° City Clerk and Administrator, Asst. Engineer, and Walter M. Nollac, a
Sanitation Division Engineer.
CONTRACT FOR BARRANCA, City Clerk presented contract offered by the County Flood
SUNSET AND CALIFORNIA Control District for the construction of bridges over
BRIDGES Walnut Creek Wash at Barranca Street, Sunset Avenue, and
APPROVED Calif ornia.Avenue. The total cost of the City°s participation
would be $19,756.80 for the three bridges, including pedes-
trian crosswalks. Motion by Councilman Kay, seconded by Councilman Sperline, that
Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to execute contract. Passed on roll call as
follows: ,

RESOLUTION NO. 729 City Clerk presented Resolution No. 729 "A RESOLUTION OF THE
URGING ADOPTION OF CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, URGING
A. B. 1459 THAT A.B. 1459 BE ENACTED INTO LAW IN ORDER TO CORRECT DEFI-
REFUSE TRANSFER & DISPOSAL 'CIENCIES AND INCONSISTENCIES IN THE EXISTING SANITATION
ADOPTED DISTRICT LAW"' and read excerpts of a letter dated May 12, 1955,
from the County Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County
recommending adoption of this resolution. Motion by Councilman Kay, seconded by Councilman
Van Horn, that Resolution No. 729 be adopted. Passed on roll call as follows:

HIRING OF City Clerk stated that Harold Johnson, Director of Public
ASSIT. ENGINEER Works, has recommended Mr. George Henry Lloyd as an assis-
tant to the City Engineer. Motion by Councilman Kay, sec-
onded by Councilman Sperline, that Mr. Lloyd be employed, effective June 16, 1955, at $500.00
per month. Passed on roll call as follows:

IN10DIFICATION OF OVERALL Mr. James Maul, representing Mrs. Britt, stated that
ZONE MAP Mrs. Britt's Precise Plan was filed with the Engineering
Dept. last week as requested by the Council. Study meet-
ing will be held at 6*630 Monday night., May 23, before the regular Council meeting for
consideration of the Overall Zone Map.
RESOLUTION NO. 730 Mr. Walter Nollac, Sanitation Division Engineer, presented
ACCEPTING EASEMENT and read Resolution No. 730 "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY
Bodger Realty Co. COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA,, ACCEPTING
ADOPTED AN EASEMENT IN AND ACROSS REAL PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA FOR SANITARY SEWER PURPOSES. (Bodger Realty
Cc.)" Motion by Councilman Sperline., seconded by Councilman Kay., that Resolution
'No. 730 be adopted. Passed on roll call as followsg

SEWER REIMBURSEMENT On recommendation of,Mr. Nollac., Sanitation Division
Tracts Nos. 18450 & 21509 Engineer., motion by :Councilman Sperline,, seconded by
AUTHORIZED Councilman Kay., and carried,,- that Mayor and City Clerk
be'authorized to execute reimbursement agreement No. 6
with Sunset Manor Co. for sewer reimbursement in Tracts Nos. 18450 and 21509 at a
cost of $3,137.84.
RESOLUTION NO. 731 'Mr. Nollac of the City Sanitation Division presented
APPROVING BOND Resolution No. 731 "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
SEWER IMPROVEMENTS THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING BOND TO
Tracts Nos. 18450 & 21509 GUARANTEE THE COST OF CERTAIN IMPROVEMENTS AND THE TIME
ADOPTED OF COMPLETION IN TRACTS NOS. 18450 and 21509 IN SAID CITY."
Motion by Councilman Kay, seconded by Councilman Sperline,
that Resolution No. 731 be adopted. Passed on roll call as follows. -
