the attorney representing the complainant in those proceedingss, I believe that if the
hearings scheduled for tonight are continued to January 24$ 19559 then it is my purpose
to cause the resolutions and notices in these matters to be r€pubUahed and if this is
done$ the proceedings will be less vulnerable to attack by these who are opposing the
proposed annexations and the contemplated comet-cial developmento I have prepgred and
will submit to you for consideration new resolutions providing for the re -publication.
I recosmaend that both hearings and your consideration of the precise plan and future

Mr. Richard Feddersen, 1512 E, Fortner St,, in West Covina, spealdng for the opposing
factions stated that this area is surrounded by residential devel a ment in an R-1 zone.
One Section is a public school grounds and a church so closely built to school grounds
would not be in keeping with good planning. It was also felt by those in apposition
that this church should not be established at this point permanently,

Mro Feddersen submitted a petition of 162 names apposing the granting of this Variance
and it was accepted by the City Clerk as testimony in this matter. Mr. Ms2 Samerp
1235 Robin Roads West Covina, also spoke in opposition to this plan. Potion by Councilman

City Clem read a letter from Mr. Art Daniel@ regarding
the dedication of Vanderhoof Drive as a city strrost. It
stated in the letter tha, it mw underatood that after
five years it is a public thoroughfare but could not ba
dedicated if wider private owernhip. Councilman Sperline made a motion,, seconded
by Councilman Kay,, and carried,, that this be referred to the City Engineer and City
Attorney for further studya
TRACT NO. 19453 A letter was read by the City Clerk in regard to Tract
Request for Spec4al No. 19453 for permission to erect 5 or b model homes on thih ti
