Correction: Page 6, Resolution No. 460, under description of property in- volved, should read ". . . for access to Tract No. 19318.)" STOP SIGNS Motion by Councilman Hossberg, seconded by Councilman REQUESTED Sperline, and earriedf, that the Police Department be directed to install temporary stop signs on Sunset Avenue at each side of Walnut Creek Wash until the necessary ordinance can be adopt- ed coveringthesestop signs. RESIGNATION FROM City Clerk read a. letter dated SeT*emher x9� 1953 ft-om PLANNING COMMISSION P. M. McCann, Chairman of the Planning Commission, an- P. M. McCANN nouncing his resignation effective immediately because ACCEPTED of added business responsibilities. Resignation was ac- cepted with regret, and City Clerk was requested to write Mr. McCann a letter expressing the City's thanks and appreciation for his serer'..• vices. • PARK & REC. COMMISSION City Clerk presented and read Resolution No. 5 of the RESOLUTION NO. 5 Park and Recreation Commission, directed to the City SWIMMING POOL Council, recommending the installation of a complete RECEIV10 regulation swivoing stadium, junior instructional pool, bathhouse and allied necessities at the Lark Ellen park site, and that the residents of the City be given an opportunity to vote on a $175,000 bond issue for this purpose, at either a special or the next regular election. Mr. Floyd Gelvin, Chairman of the Park and Recreation Commission, was present and request- ed an expression from the Council as to whether this proposition could be placed on ballot. Street to the City of West Covina, PETITION FOR ANNEXATION Councilman DeLay reported for the committee appointed to South of City Limits study the petition for annexation to the city of the area COMITTEE REPORT bounded by the south city liLdts, Glendora Blvd,, Amar Road and Pass.and Covina Road, stating the committee felt it would be a desirable area to accept into the city provided the people wanted to come in. Since the previous meeting, a petition had also been presented protesting the annexation to the city. A number of interested property owners from the area wer present, among them fir, Ed Inorkman, 159k9 E. Las Vacinas, Puente, Mrs. James Carey, 1b38 bender, and Mro Myron Wigderson, 15557 kl�nath St.,, Puente. It was explained that it is now up to the residents of the area to petition for annexation if that is the desire, and the proposition will be put on the ballot. WILLOW AVENUE - City Engineer presented a report of the area involved in IMPROVEMENTS AUTHORIZED a petition by 19 residents of Willow Avenue between Garvey Blvd. and Pacific Avenue for installation of curbs and gutters along their property. Motion by Councilman Mossberg, seconded by Councilman Sperline, and carried, that City Engineer be authorized to have plans prepared for the improvement of the area petitioned on Willow Avenue, on receipt of the necessary deposits from the residents. t BIDS OPENED Mayor Hurst announced this is the time and place for . The matter was referred to the Build- ing Inspector for report at the next meeting before his final inspection report is filed.
