City Engineer is to inform Mro L. Jo Thompson that he is to proceed with street lighting plans, effective April 21, 1953. Passed on roll call as follows. - Ayes: Councilmen DeLay, Van Horn, Sperlinee Hurst, Mossberg Noes: None Absent: None APPOINTING PARK AND City Administrator asked the Council to consider hiring RECREATIONAL DIRECTOR a Park and Recreational Director. Mr. Ed Alford,, President of the Park and Recreation Commission suggested some though, be given to this. Councilman DeLay suggested Park Commissioners visit neighboring towns to see what they are doing along this line. Councilman Sperline suggested two members of the City and two members of the School Board uvrk on this together.. 7% 3-23-53 -2- FUTURE PARK SITES City Administrator asked the City Council to consider the CONTINUED purchase of acreage in several, locations to be used for city parks. Councilman Delay has contacted the owners of several different pieces of property and mill, inform the Council of his results, Council was asked to consider the purchase of four acres of the property that is now being considered fora school site. Councilman DeLay read variance specifications as orig- inally granted and after discussion Council decided applicant should be required to conform to origin specifications. EDUCATION PROGRAM Councilman Delay moved and Councilman Van Horn seconded,. that. METES & BOUNDS City Administrator notify, by letter, each owner of property . consisting of one acre or more of the requirements of the Metes and Bounds Subdivision Ordinance.
