Presents Councilmen Hurst, DoLay, Van Horn, Mossberg and Sperline. Absents None Others: City Attorney, City Clerk, City Coordinator, City Engineer and City Treasurer. MINUTES City Clerk read the minutes of the meeting of May 28, 1952. APPROVED Follmving correction was mare on page 2 with reference to • the hearing on Zone Change Application No. 8 of George W. Coon to clarify the requirement: in the eighth line, after "Zone III," change wording to read "and 10rovided the minimum, house requirements be provided at 1350 square feet." Mayor Hurst announced the minutes stand approved as corrected. DECISION ON RT 13ARING The Mayor requested a decision be made on the rehearing TRNTATIVE MAP of Tentative Bap Tract No. 17962 of R. C. Millar covering TRACT HO. 17962 - 30 acres (74 lots), Zone III, located on Barranca "treet R. Co Millar south of Garvey Avenue. Motion by Councilman Iran Horn, APPROVED seconded by Councilman Sperline, that map be approved subject to the following changes: 1) That the 601 easterly street be moved north to coincide with the proposed street running east on Barranca; and 2) That the improvements be installed according to city requirements and the recommendations of the Planning Commission, which were as follows: a) That all lots conform to Zone III standards. b) That street right—of-way v.dths be 52t instead of 54e as shoran on the map. c) That satisfactory drainage facilities be provided. d) That all street improvements be installed to meet city specifications. Motion passed on roll call as follows: Ayes: Councilmen DeLay, Van Horne Mossberg, Spsrline and Hurst. Noes: Nome Absent: None Mr. Millar, who mw present, objected to retquiz ment No. 1 above. It was suggested to him that if he found it impossiblo to complj with this requirement, he discuss it further with the City Council. 2- ORAL RDQUESTS Mr. Albert Gabler,, Jr.., former member of the Police FROM AUDIENCE Department, requested vacation pay which had been promised to him. The Mayor announced this mould be t&km sander advisement, Mr. Jess Swanson requested information as to when his committee could expect action on petition filed regarding requirements in Zone III. City Attorney advised that action is being taken by the Planing Commission. REQUEST FOR EASEMENT City Engineer Pontow read a request from the Sunkist SUNKIST WATER CO o W&ter Company requesting they be granted a 59 easement • APPROVED along the north property line of the City hall grounds,, south of Garvey Avenue. Easement is needed to continue their present water facilities,, Motion by Councilmen DeLay, seconded by Councilman Sperline, and carried, that easement be granted provided the land be restored to its condition prior to the insta tion of the dater line, and provided a suitable hydrant be installed at a location appiwed by the City Engineer and the Chief of the Fire Department without expense to the City, and that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to execute the requested easemento RESOLUTION NO. 328 City Attorney-pre-sented and read Resolution No. 328 DATE SET FOR "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CIMI OF WEST HEARING COVINA DESCPI BING THE BOUNDARIES OF TERRITORY, PETITIONING TO HE ANNEXED, DESIGNATING IT BY AN APPROPRIATE KAME, AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE TIME AND PIACE WHERE IT WILL HEAR PROTESTS". This matter involves the proposed annexation of the property at Hollenbeck and Workman. Motion by Councilman Mossherg, seconded by Councilman DeLay, that hearing be set for Mondays July 21, 1952 at 8:00 P.M. at a special meeting of the: City Council. City Engineer rad the recommendations of the Planning Commission, Councilman Van Horn announced, that it was the understanding of the Council that the subdivider was now requesting as originally submitted. Mro Stratton has engaged licansed surveyors to secure necessary surety data in order to establish the grade in front of her property,, " the Engineergs office is now en- gaged in working out grades.
