Haoting called to order at 8o00 P.M. at the West Covina City Hallo

HINUTFS Motion by Councilman Greene seconded by Councilman
APPROVED Van Horace and carr°ied., that the minutes of the meeting
of Ranh 26,9 1952.9 be approvad as submitted.
ABSENTEE BALLOTS Tee Mayor announced that at this time the seven absented
CANVASSED ballots., being all of the absentee ballots issued, thieh
were all returned in proper fora to the City Clerk and
chocked by him., would be counted and recorded. The City Cleric certified as to the
due issuance and proper retuxn of such ballots., and of the fact that ouch g�etuxned
ballots appanred to be in order. The mayor selected Councilman Mossberg as Judge,,
And Councilman Green as Taller., to assist in conducting the canvass of the retume.
The City Clerk thereupon opened ax-ad delivered the seven folded ballots to the
Judge and Taller who in - open session and in public view opened., inspected and
tallied the result as followam

The Mayor announced that the City Council being satisfied with the correctness of
this canvass of absentee votes., the result will be incorporated in the minutes of
this meeting and in the formal resolution to be adopted as required by law'at the
meeting of April 1% 1952 at 5 o'clock Polio certifying the final result of the
election of April 88 1952.
PETITION OPPOSING The Mayor read a, letter from the Friendship Garden Club
REMOVAL OF TRITS opposing the widening of Lark Ellen Avenue to a point
ON LARK ELLEN where it is necessary to remove the trees bordering it.
Mr. Howard M, Patterson,* representing the hest Covina Beautiful Association presented
Petitions carrying a total of.522 names opposing the removal of trees along Lark

E12an Annaa, and requested that final action ordering the trees to be removed bo
withheld. Nr. Finlay,, the engineer for a subdivider along Lark Ellen, also spoke
stating adequate stet and parking facilities could be provided for without removing
the treas. Mr. Edm.n Jobs also spoke requesting consideration of the petition.
The matter will be referred to the Planning Cession for consideration.

that the Council appoint a person or persons to attend
discussion meetings on this matter.
