The regular meeting of the City Council was held in the Council Chambers
at 8:00 P.M. on the above date, with Councilman Van Horn,, Mayor Protem,,
presiding.
Present: Councilmen Van Horn,, Flatten, Hearst and Moseberg.
Absent: Mayor D®Lay
Also Present: Gity Attorney, City Clerk,, City Engineer,, City Treasurer,,
and Deputy City Clerk.
Motion by Councilman Mossbsrg, seconded by Coua cilman Flatten, and carried,,
that the minutes of the Council meeting of October 24,, 1951, be approved as read.
-FINAL MAP On motion by Councilman Hearst, seconded by Councilman
TRACT 12238 Mossberg,, and carried, final asap cover-Ing Tract No.
APPROVED 12238 was approved.
CUL DE SAC Motion by Councilman Mossberg,, seconded by Councilman
INDIAN SUMMER Flatten, and carried, that the recommendation of the
• AVENUE Planning Commission pertaining to the cul de sac at the
southerly end of Indian Summer Avenue be approved.
BIDS FOR Mayor paw teen Van Horn announced that this was the time for
STREET PAINTING the opening of bids for supplying approximately 350 gallons
of traffic paint and 2,000 pounds of glass beads for street
painting. The following bids were received:

Motion by Councilman Flotten, seconded by Councilman Hurst, and carried,, that
bids be referred to the City Engineer for checking and report brick at the next
meeting.
APPROVAL Motion by Councilman Mossberg,, seconded by Councilman
FIRE DEPT. Flatten, that authorization be granted to the Fire Chief
FXPENDITURES to purchase two red lights for the f#e truck,, as scree for
the fire hose,, a basket for the trucks to hold helmets,, etc.,,
and a heater for the Fire Department. Appropriation for these mpenditu.res
not to exceed $160.00 in all.. Passed on roll call as follows:

CITY OF COVINA ?Motion by Councilman Hurst, seconded by Councilman
PROPOSED Mossberg, and carried, that the formal notice from
ANNEXATION the City of Covina regarding their proposed anne=—
tion of property on Sarranca adjoining easterly eity
limits of West Coviaa., be referred to the City Attorney for checking
and recommendations.
RESOLUTION TO Motion by Councilman Mossberge seconded by Councilman
PURCHASE Flotten,, that the City Attorney be authorized to prepare
PROPERTY an appropriate resolution covering the purchase by the
city of they easterly 525 feet of Lots 211. and 216 of E. J.
Saldwinns Fifth Subdivision of a portion of Rancho La Fuente,, excepting the
northerly 147 feet of the easterly 260 feet of said Lot 23.1,, at a price of
16,,625.00 cash,, The property comprises approximately 6.71 acres and is
• located at the intersection of Cameron Avenue and Lark Ellen Avenues in the

CITY Motion by Councilman Hurst., seconded by Councilman
• COORDINATOR Moseber=g, that Percy Jackson be employed as Coordinator
of the City of Wiest Covina,, effective November 1% 1931,,
in addition to his regular duties as wilding Inspector. Motion carried.
BOOKKEEPER Motion by Counci.lau n Mossberg, ,seconded by Councilman
Flotten, that C. Co Toland be employed as bookkepperp,,
effective December le 1951,, at a salary of 0225.00 per month, in addition
