WEST COVINA CITY COUNCIL MEETING
May 9, 1951
The regular meeting of the Welt Covina. City Council was called to order
at 8:00 o0clock P.M. at the West Covina City Hall.

Present: Mayor Defy, Councilmen Hurst, Mossberg, and Van Horn.
Absent: Councilman Flotten.

Also Presents Mrs,, Merry, J. C. Nichols, R. E. Graham and S. R. Zimmerman.
The Minutes of the meeting of April 25, 1951, were read and approved.
Final Map of Tract No. 16738 for the Toland Pwperty Kss presented. The City
Engineer stated that all improvements had been installed or a Bond posted for
their installation.
Resolution No. , a resolution of the City Council of the City of W st Covina
• accepting final map of Tract Aso. 16738 or, Workman Avenue west of Lark"Ellen
Avenue. Un motion by Councilmn K,ossberg, seconded. by Councilman Van Hoar
and carried, said resolution vras adopited.
Tentative Map of Tract No. 14874 ims presented., On motion by Councilman Van
i®rn, seconded by.Couuncilman Mossberg and carried, said map was approved sub-
ject to the recommendations of the Planning Cowrnission.
• Tentative Map of Tract No. 17258, Merced and Valinda Avenues, was presented.
On motion by Councilman Mossberg, seconded by Councilman Van Horn and carried,
said map was a,ppmved suioject to the recommendations of the Planning Commission.
Metes and Bounds Subdivision hzap No. 135-38 for the Hoffman Property on East
Merced Avenue was presented. On motion by Councilman Hurst, seconded by Con
cilman Van Horn and carried., said map wasapproved subject to jdg� recommendations
1 and 3 of the Planning ComWWslon.
Metes and Bounds Subdivision Map No. 135-36 for the Wolsey property on Vine
and Lark Ellen Avenues was prnsented. On motion by Councilman Mossberg,
seconded by Councilman Van Horn and carried, said map was accepted subject
to the recommendations of the Planning Commission.
It was moved by Councilman Van Horn, seconded by Councilman Hurst and carried,
that the bills be paid as audited:

It was moved by Councilman Hurst, seconded by Councilman Mossberg and carried,
that the report a of the Treasurer, Auditor, Police and Building Dept. be
accepted and filed.
Metes and Bounds Subdivision Yap No. 135-39 located at Hine and Lark Ellen
Avenues was presented. On motion by Cotzncilinan Ykossberg, seconded by Council-
man Hurst and carried, said map was accepted subject to the conditions that
all improvements be installed in accordance with the specifications of the
City of hest Covina.
The City Attorney is requested to prepare a contract providing for the
installation of curbs and gutter hooking up with the existing pavement on
Vine Avenue between bark FUen and Pima Avenues at the cost of $1.25 per front
foot.
Mayor Delay appointed Mr. Darold Wickersham as a member of the Planning
. Commission, with the approval of the City Council, for a term of four years
beginning May 15, 1951.

The City Clerk was authorized to advertise for bids for a one ton cabin chassis
truck, specifications on file with the City Engineer.
It was moved by Councilman Van Horn, seconded by Councilman Nossberg and
carried, authorizing the City Treasurer to substitute the Treasury Bonds now
deposited with her by the Bane of America for Covina ty 3chool District
