04-11-1951 - Regular Meeting - MinutesVEST COVINA CITY COUNCIL MEETING April 119 1951 The regular meeting of the Vest Covina City Council was called to order at 8:00 ooclock P.M. at the 'Nest Covina City Hallo Present: Mayor DeLay, Councilmen Hurst, Mossberg, Van Horn and Flotte3n. '�— Absent: None. Also Present: Mrs. Merry; J. C. Nichols, R.'E© Graham and S. R. Ziumerman. The Minutes of the meeting of March 28, 1951, were read and -approved. Mr. Shaver, Supt. of Covina Union nigh School and Mr. White, Business Agent, were present and with their consent the high school wAs continue for further study. Fx"r � #- 31 iResolution No. 277, a resolution of the City Council of West Covina accepting a final map of a subdivision within" the City of West Covina. On motion by Councilman Flotten, seconded by Councilman Mossberg and carried, said resolution was adopted. Tentative Map of Tract No. 15681 was presented. On motion by Councilman Van • Horn, seconded by Councilman Hurst and carried, said map was approved subject to the recommendations of the Planning Comtission. Tentative Map of Tract No. 15591 **-as presented. On motion by Councilman Flotten, seconded by Councilman Hurst and carried, said map was approved subject to the recommendations of the Planning Commission. It was moved by Councilman Felotten, seconded by Councilman Mossberg and carried, that the approval of the tentative map of Tract No. 15253 be --postponed for Iftis �'< weeks with the approval of the applicant. _A0 It was moved by Councilman fiurst, seconded by Councilman Flotten and carried, accepting the recommendations of the Planning Commission on Metes 4 Hounds Subdivision Map 135-37 and that the application be denied. It was moved by Counci.lmwa Ian Horn, seconded by Counci3pan Hurst and carried, approving the R. M. Philleo Record of Survey Map subject to the recommendations of the Planning Commission It was moved by Councilman Hurst, seconded by Councilman Mossberg and carried, denying Mr. Roelle an exlusivee franchise to operate; a bus line -in the City of West Covina. It was moved by Counciluan Hurst, seconded by Councilman Van Horn and carried,, that the bills be paid as audited. General Fund- - - - - - - - - - - $6321.59 Street Fund - - - - - - - - - - - 2532.60 Municipal Bond Acct. 1951 - - - - 1725.08 Special Acct. No. 1 - _ - - - - - 635.00 It vas moored by Councilman Vasa. Horn. seconded by Councilman Hurst and carried, authorizing the City Engineer to proceed. with alterations of the garage to house the fire equipment at a cost not to exceed $975.00 to be charged against the Municipal Bond Account 1951 and allotted to fire equipment. It -was awed -by Councilman Van Hors, seconded by Councilman Hurst and carried, • authorizing the City Attorney to initiate proceeding ,s to get the city employees under the Social Security Act. Resolution No. 278, a resolution of the City Council of West Covina of Mutual Aid in connection with Civil Defense. On motion by Councilman Hurst, seconded by Councilman'✓�r,nv and carried, said resolution was adopted. It was moved by Councilman Hurst, seconded by Councilman Van Horn and carried, that the reports of the City Treasurer, Bldg. Inspector and Auditor be accepted and filed. • It was moved by Councilman Flotten, seconded by Councilman Mossberg and carried, that the Chief of Police be allowed to spend 0300.00 for uniforms for Auxiliary Police. Resolution No. 27% a resolution of the City Council of West Covina authorizing the City Treasurer to open an account for the Special Assessment Dist at No. 1. • On motion by Councilman seconded by Councilman and carried, said resolution was adopted.
