Present: Mayor DeLay, Councilmen Flotten and Van Horn,
Absent: Councilmen and Dios sberg.
Also Present: Mrs. Savers, R. E. Graham, J. C. Nichols and S. R.
Timmerman.
The Minutes of the meetings of May 24 and June 7, 1950, were read
and aDDroved.
It was moved by Van Horn, seconded by Flotten and carried, that
the WestCodna Legion Post be granted DPMission to Operate five (5)
stands in the City of West Covina for the Durnose of selling fire
works, beginning Friday, June 30 through Duly 4, IP50.
It was moved by Flotten, seconded by Van Horn and carried, that
the bills be raid as audited:

It was moved by Flotten, seconded by ran Horn and parried, that
a variance be granted Dermitting the use of the building for office

The City Engineer states that the final map/nf Tract Rio. 16472
complies with all requirements and conditions of accet)tance as
imposed on tentative man of Tract No. 16472, and the Clerk is
authorized to sign same,
Resolution No. 224 ® a resolution aDnroving final map of Tract
No. 16472, and acce®ting the streets therein; and on n-0"-p oy
Van Horn, seconded by Flotten and. carried., said resolution was
unanimously adopted.
It was moved by Van Horn, seconded by Flotten.and carried, that
the bids on the Channing Street ,fob be referred. to the City
Engineer for checking, and that,he report at the next Council
meeting on .June 28, 1950.
Resolution Nn. 225 - a resolution of the City Council of the_ City
c,f VeFt COvi_na, acceDtinp that certain easement dated the 27th
d;xv. of Mav, 1950, executed by William Soeneer Tomlinson and
Lena N. Tomlinson, asjoint tenants, granting to the City of West
Covina that certain strip of land situated in the City of West
Covina and more narttcularly described in said easement; and on
motion by Hurst, seconded by Flotten and unanimously carried,
said resolution was adnDted,
Resolution No, 226 - a resolution of the City Council of the
City of West Covina accepting a grant deed dated May la , 1950,
executed by Flls--Harvey Building Co,, giving and granting to
the City of West Covina that certain lot situated in the City
of West Covina, and more Darticularly described in said grant
deed. Said resolution was offered by Hurst•, seconded by Van
Horn and unanimously adapted.
Ordinance No, 193, an ordinance of the City of West Covina pro-
viding for the restraint and safe keening of animals title of
which was read.; and on motion by Hurst, seconded by'flotten
and unanimously carried, further reading was waived.
It was moved by Hurst, seconded by Flotten and carried, authorizing
• the Clprk to advertise for bids for a stew Dollce care
It was moved by Hurst, seconded by Van Horn and carr.ted, directing
that Mrs. Sayers° bond be raised to 935,000,(.)0,
It was moved by Van Horn, seconded by Hurst and carried, that the
reports of theTReasurer, Police and Building DeDartments be
accepted and filed
Ordinance No, 192 - an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 1421
entitled "An Ordinance of the City of 'West Covina Providing for
the licensing of wholesale and retail businesses, trades and
occuoati on s carried on in said City, and repealing all ordinances

reading was waived and said ordinance was adopted.
