Absent: Councilman Mossberg,
Also Present: Mrs. Sayers, J. C. Nichols, Re E. Graham and S. R.
Zimmerman.
The Minutes of the meeting of January 11, 1950, were read and approved
It was moved by Flotten, seconded by DeLay and carried, accenting
deeds from property owners in Assessment District No, 1 for Van
Horn Avenue, Sherway Street and Elder Street.
Resolution No, 190 - a resolution of the City Council of West
Covina approving Assessment District Map for Assessment District
No. 1 for the construction of street and water main imorovements
in Van Horn Avenue and other rights of way. Said re solut ior3 ,ia s
offered by DeLay, seconded by Flotten and carried.
Hearing on amendment to Ordinance N6. 3.47 nermitti ng a Real Fst-a"i;e
Brokerage business as a home occuDati_on in an R-3 zone.
Mr. Ben termer, 2345 Fa Garvey, lcformer owner of property sold to
Mrs. I:erg for a home Real Estate Office, said he was in accord
with plans of the Planning Commission in.ha.ndling�the problem,
Also says that a Real Estate Office must have signs and would
suggest signs about 4x10 which he thinks would be adequate.
Mrs. berg, 2426 E. Garvey, said if the variance is granted, she
will agree 1ha'ter to the overall. plan for signs in the City of
West Covina, Bays that she does not think signs 4x10 are too
large.
Public Hearing on Resolution No, 38 of the Planning Commission
was called. And, it was moved by DeLay, Seconded by Flotten and
carried, that the testimony given on Resolution No. 37 be adopted;
Be it resolved that the final man of Tract No. 14025 be accented,
and, said acceptance was moved by Del ay, seconded by Flot ten and
carried.
It was moved by Hurst, seconded by DeLay and carried., that the
tentative Man of Tract No, 16367 be approved subject to the
recommendati. ons of the 'Manning Commission,
Ordinance No, 186, an :ordinance providing for the temporary
occupancy of incomplete buildings,- title of which was read and
on motion by Flotten, seconded by DeLay €end unanimously carried,
further reading was waived.
It was moved by Flotten, seconded b.y Delay and carried., that the
tentative ma-o of `bract No. IL6376 be aiiproved, subject to the
following conditions:

the Citv Engineer to secure bids for the removal of the
bridge and the building of a. di-o Across the wash.
That lots 7 and 8 face tan Horn Avenue and. 21 and 20 Pace
