CITY COUNCIL MEETING
of November 9, 1949
Public Hearing on Variance No. 29 was held.
Meeting opened at 99.00 P.M.
Mr, Minhey states that he purchased this 5 acres in May, 19471
and that at that time there were no restrictions on this Dronerty.
He states that he Durchased this land for the specific Dumose

Of Dutting chickens on this place. He states that he Is 70% dis-
abled,, that getting a job in Drivate industry is eomnletely out
of the question. He Dlans to locate these chlalrom houses 300 to
400 feet from Orange Ave.
"Max Gross, 2355 W. San Bernardino Rd, states that we should look
at the Doultry industry as we used to look at the auto industry.
That there is no reason to hide the Doultry ranch, that to build
a nice Doultry ranch should 'he seen and admired. He states that

if a man goes into the chicken business and does not go at it
scientifically, he will not be in the business very long. He
states that a chicken house shoul.r4 he at least 100 feet from any
residence and 50 or more feet from any street.
E. e, Howard. 622 N. Orange Ave. , says that he ha a not much to
say other than what he said before the planning_ Commission. He.
says that he has a Petition signed by everyone on Orange Ave.
Mr. Hagenbach, No. Orange Ave., says that someone might ob3not to -
the looks of a chicken ranch and that the Doultryman should hide
