The minutes of the Meeting of May 25, 1949 were read and
approved.
Resolution #22 of the Planning Commission was received and
upon motion by DeLay, seconded by Mossberg and carried the
recommeddation of the Planning Commission was upheld.
A Petition for annexation of uninhabited territory was pre-
sented arid. the Council Pet June 27, 1949, at the hour of 5:00
P.M. for hearing protests.
• Resolution # 1721, a resolution of the City of West Covina Pro-
viding for the annexation of uninhabited territories. The adoption
of said, resolution was moved by Flotten, seconded by DeLay and
unanimously carried,
The City Attorney is directed to draw an ammendment to the
Zoning ordinance providing that the City Council may determine
the lot area of territory annexed to the City concurrently with
the annexation proceedings, and be it resolved that the Planning
Commission is hereby directed to hold Public hearings.
Upon motion by Flotten, seconded by Mossberg and ca_^ried the Mayor
and Clerk were directed to sign the health contract with the
County Health Department,
Upon motion by Flotten, seconded by DeLay and carried the request
of Jack Vaughan to erect a directional sign at the corner of
Garvey and Citrus wa.s denied,
Ordinance #171, an Ordinance regulating the licensing of dogs,
muzzling and restraint of dogs at certain times, vaccination of
dogs, providing for control and eradication of rabies in the City
of West Covina titles of iehich was read and further reading waived
and the Chief of Police was directed not to dispose of d.ogs through -
any vivisection organization.
�1 Ordinance No 172, an Ordinance amending Ordinance No, 142 entitled
"An.Ordinance of the City of West Covina Providing for the licensing
of wholesale and retail business, trades and occupations carried
on in said City, and repealing all Ordinances i.n conflict Herewith"
by adding thereto a new section to be section ;#32, had its first
reading,
Police Commissioner DeLay recommended that we buy a New Police Car
and upon motion by Mossberg, seconded by Flotten and. carried the
Clerk was directed to advertise for bids, The Council reserves
the right to reject all bids.
