The adjourned meeting of May 11, 1949 was called to order by
Mayor Van Horn.
This was a meeting held for the purpose of hearing protests of
the annexation of the area known as the Southerly Addition #4;
the calling of a special election considering the change of
the name of the City to "Fleetwood", and the reading of the Ordi-
.nance providing for the annexation of the "Southerly Addition #4".
In the matter of the protests of the annexation of Tract
#12505 and Lots 363 and 364 of Trat't # 606 ._, and known as the
"Southerly Addition #4, " no written protests having been filed
with the City Clerk, Ordinance No. 169 of the City of West Covina
approxing the annexation to, incorporating in and making a part
of said City certain uninhabited territory outside of said City
and contiguous thereto, known as "Southerly Addition #4#" had
its first reading.
The City Clerk returned to the Council a Petition for
Change of the name of the City to that of "Fleetwood", with his
Certification that said Petition had affixed thereto the requi-
site number of valid signatures.
Resolution #172, a Resolution of the City of West Covina
calling a special election on the question of changing the name
of the City of West Covina to "Fleetwo(d" offered by Hurst, seconded
by Flotten, was unanimously adopted*
Ordinance No.170, an ordinance of the City of West Covina
approving the annexation to, incorporating in and making a Dart of
said City of West Covina certain uninhabited territory outside of
said. City and Contiguous thereto, and known as"Southerly Addition
No.4F11 had its first reading.
The meeting was duly adjourned at 6:15 P.M.
