OF. MAY 5, 1948.
Meeting called to order by Mayor King at 8:00 otclock P.M.
Present Mayor.King, Councilmen Delay, Hurst, Mossberg and Van Horn.
Absent:' None
Also Present Were: 'City Engineer Ells, Mr. Johnson, J.C. Nichols
and City. -Treasurer Mrs. Sayers.
The minutes of the council meeting of April 28, 1948,,were.read and
approved.
Mr.. Chas Zug was appointed by Mayor King, and unanimously approved
— � by the Council as a member of the Planning Commission.
Director of
Mayor King appointed Councilman Mossberg as an alternate mmmkxxxof
District ,15, of - the Los Angeles County Sanitation District.
The matter of a fidelity bond for City Treasurer, Mrs. Sayers, was
discussed, but held up for further informantion..
Mayor King appointed Councilmen Hurst and Van Horn as a committee
to investigate the purchase of..chairs for the new council
room.
The question of a municipally owned water department was discussed
and explained by -City Engineer'Ells.
City Engineer Ells and Councilman Delay were appointed by Mayor King
to investigate the.problem of' -street lighting in the .City
of West Covina.
City Engineer Ells reported that the':Associated Telephone Company had
decided to reun their mairi,.tru-dk line between,Coviria and
Puente along Francisquito Avenue to.Azusa, North on Azusa
to Vine, East on,Vine to Citrus,and north on Citrus to
Covina.
Resolution N!. 133, a resolution to except the street improvements
in Tract No.14681, with the exception that fire hydrants
have not been installed in accordance with the approved
plans of said tract, therefore, said subdivider -of said
tract be required to pay to the City the amount of-$511.68
for having failed to complete saidimprovements. Other Im-
provemen,ts. having been completed -the subdivider asks that
bond filed with the City guaranteeing completion of said
improvements be`re'eased to said'subdivider. It was•moved
by Councilman Hurst,seconded by CouncilmanDelay and carried
that resolution No.133 be adopted.:
Motion was made'by Councilman Hurst, seconded by Councilman Delay,
and carried to djourn. Adjourned -at 1015 P.M.
