of April 28, 1948
Meeting called to order by Mayor King at 8:00 o'clock P.M.
Present: Mayor King, Councilmen Delay, Hurst, Mossberg and Van Horn.
Absent: None
Also Present: City Attorney Zimmerman, dr. Johnson, J.C. Nichols
City Treasurer, Mrs. Sayers.
A motion was made by Delay, seconded by Councilman Van Horn and carried
• that the paving of side walks in tract No. 14710, hxx=±xxdx-as required
in original recommendations of the Planning Commission of April 17,
1948 be waived.
Resolution No. 131, a resolution approving Tract No. 14710, and streets
and Avenues shown therein are accepted as public highways, was offered
for adoption by Councilman Hurst, seconded by Councilman -Van Horn,and
unanimously carried.
Upon motion by councilman Delay, seconded by councilman Hurst and
carried, the application of the Southern California Edison -Company for
an Indeterminate Electric Franchise was accepted.
Resolution 132, a resolution of intention to grant an Electric Franchise
to the Southern California Edison Company, was offered by councilman
Delay, seconded by councilman Hurst and unanimously carried.
ORDINANCE NO. 154, entitled -an "ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WEST COViNA
APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO, INCORPORATING.IN, AND MAKING A PART OF
SAID CITY OF WEST COVINA CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY OUTSIDE OF SAID
CITY AND CONTIGUOUS THERETO KNOWN AS t1WESTERLY ADDITIONT', came up.for
its third and finial reading.
It was moved by councilman Van Horn, seconded by councilman Hurst and
carried, that City Engineer Ells and Percy Jackson get together and work
out a fire ordinance - suitable for R_S Zone.
Mr. Floyd Gelvin was appointed by mayor King, and unanimously approved
by the council as a member of the Planning'Commission.
• Upon motion by councilman Hurst, seconded by councilman Mossberg, and
carried, J.C. Nichols was appointed deputy City Clerk for the purpose
administering -oaths.
Motion to adjourn was made by councilman Delay, seconded by councilman
Van Horn and carried. Adjourned at 10:15 P.M.
