Meeting of April 14 1948
Meeting called to order at 8:00 PM by -Mayor Batchelder
Present: \Mayor Batchelder, Councilmen Hurst, Van Horn and DeLay
Absent: Councilman Schabarum
Also present: Counsel Zimmerman,' Treasurer Sayers and J.C.Nichols.
Minutes of the previous meeting were not read
. Ordinance #154 Title of which is "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
WEST C OVINA ANNEXING TO, INCORPORATING IN AND MAKING A PART OF
THE CITY OF WEST COVINA THE TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS THE
"WESTERLY ADDITION" was•read. Upon reading the title thereof
Mr. Van Horn moved that further reading be waived and the
Ordinance be adopted. Motion was seconded by Mr. Hurst and
unanimously carried.
Report of the Treasurer, the Building Dept., the Police Dept.
and the Budget Report were ordered to be accepted and filed
on motion of Mr. Hurst which was seconded by Mr. Van Horn and
unanimously carried.
Motion was made by Mr. DeLay to open a new bank account to be
known as the "Street Widening Fund". Seconded by Mr. Van Horn
and unanimously carried.
The City Clerk was directed to Write a letter to Mr. Schabarum
eNpressing the sympathy of the Council and their sincere wishes
for his early recovery from his illness.
The following invoices were.presented and on motion of Mr.
Van Horn, seconded by Mr. Hurst and unanimously carried were
ordered paid.
