Meeting was cal-
led .to order by Mayor Batchelder at 8:00 P.M.
Present: Mayor Batchelder? Councilmen Van Horn, Delay and Hurst.
Absent Councilman Schabarum
Also present: Counsel Zimmerman,'City Engineer. Ells &nd J.C.Nichols
Minute's .of the meeting of March 17th were read and the following
change ordered.., The last paragraph on page two changed to read as
-follows:
Police Chief Brown appeared before the Council with a request for
an expression of opinion regarding a propos.ed Rodeo to be held on
the Valley Vaqueros -property on the.25th of April 1948. The
Council saw no reason to object as;this was a pioneering venture
in publicizing the City.
Letter was read from the.Dept. of'Public Works regarding Approval
of resurfacing and repairing City streets.
Mr..Ells read his report to the'Council regarding The estimated
allotments of. Gas Tax .Funds now available` from Division of State
Highways L. A. :County and in the St re
City Fund of the
City of West Coviria for expenditure on streets and highways in
ested that the Council
the City of 'West Covina. Mr. Ells sugg
give serious thought to establishing.a policy with respect to
streets and highways within the City.
Discussion was opened on the Record of Survey of the ITilliamson
Tract located on the south side of Service Avenue between Glendora
and CaliforniaStreets. Motion was made by Mr. Hurst that the
map be approved subject to bond being filed. Seconded by Mr. Delay
and unanimously carried.
Discussion was opened regarding Zoning in the Puente area.,
It was decided that a committee -would visit -the Board of Supervisors
in'Los Angeles and report to the Council at the next meeting.
Mr. Van Horn moved to adjourn. Mr. Delay seconded.the motion and
it carried unanimously.
