Present: Councilmen Daniels,Batchelder,Hurst,and Van Horn

In the absence of City Clerk Hall City Attorney Smith acted
as secretary pro tem.
The Mayor called the. meeting to order.
He, asked if' any one present had plans to offer for the develop-
ment of a Civic Center or Business District`.
• Mr Rasmussen presented ' aplan,not yet quite .complete, located
along Gairveylying ; t , West.. of. Sunset and 'East ,to hark Ellen
extondirig - southerly. , along Glendora: Ave all located on. ,the.' South
side of GayveY. Blvd. jHe .,said that:. he: would like* about one month
to complete' his plans ..
Mr Harbert told the Council about his plans in the vicinity og
Garvey 'Orange and Pacific,a 5 point intersection,both North and
South of Garvey. He called at tents on to the fact that ors Benino
has 1400 feet on Garvey . He stated that it would take him about
another 30 days to.get his plans completed.

would be most desirable in the future development of the! City.
Otto Worthy spoke on�the necessity of providing proper provisions
for new schools . He said that this was necessary in any new
Civic development and that they were badly needed in West Covina.
Mr G.E. Thompson. spoke of tentative plans for establishing a business
in the City and asked whether a varience might be possible at this
time at a location on the South Side of Garvey between Meeker
and Willow.
• A tentative date of 4 weeks from this date was set for anotli er
hearing of proposed plans for a business center location. The date
of to is meeting will be . February 12th.
No minutes of the last meeting were read as they were not yet in
the minute book.
The secretary read a letter from Otto Worlkhy as Clerk of the School
Board requesting the Council to keep in mind that in developing a
Civic Center and Business District consideration should be given to
the necessity of providing for additional school grounds for future
school development.
Secretary read a letter from Sunkist Water Company suggesting that
they submit a contract with the City for the installation of Fire
Icents in the district served by them.
It was moved by Van Hom and seconded by Hurst that final pa•_asage
of Ordinance # 130 annexing Southerly Addition # 2 be approved.

The Secretary, read a letter. to the Council signed by William
Cook,F•rahk,A 'Thackery ' and. -VV-. S Herring,the'-subdividers . of tract
# 14013., requesting the 'Council to' accept the, street improvements
in said" tract and to' release the bond. filed with" the• City.,
guaranteeing.' completion of improvements in said tract:
