A,dinner meeting for the purpose of discussing the proposed
zoning plan was held at 6.30 P-Me at.Bosworth's Cafe on
Garvey Blvd*,
After t'Fe canner rrthie" meeting adjourned to the home of Mayor
Batchelder to continue the discussion.
The. Mayor suggested that the location for a business section
for the City be thrown open.to the citizens.of Nest Covina
for consideration and opinion. It was deeided.that it would
be wise to inform t1te members of the community through
newspaper advertising. that the Council is favorable to the
establishment of a business section in the City that would
best serve the community as a whole.It was pointed out that
from past experience that strip business development is
undesirable. It was estimated that at some future date the
population of the City might be around. 50,000 to 609*000
and that approximately 50 or 60 acres.w6uld be needed to
meet the requirements of a business center and that beside
this adequate acres for a Park and School Site as well an
area would be needed for automobile.parking facilities.
The discussion continued along this line and.it was decided
to go ahead with the advertising. and publicity program as
proposed.

as the date .to consider passage of ordinance covering the
annexation of certain uninhabited territory outside of the
City of Test Covina and contiguous thereto,known as Southerly
Addition # 2.
Resolution was seconde.d.by Van Horn and. passed by unanimous
vote of those present.
