Meeting was called.to order at 7.30 PsYs

Frank Howard owner of the Wayside Motel on Garvey near
Irwindale was also present and requested the Council to
reconsider his application for . a trailer perk. His var-
i.ence for an Auto Court specifically. denied the right
:to establish a trailer. park°on his property. Mr Howard
stated that he would be willing to tax each trailer an
• addi t i coal amount ab ove r the rental to equal a tax for
the City similar. to a tax on a.residence. He suggested
that an ordinance require that trailers be spaced to
allow ample yard room around each trailer.
The council took no action upon.this request but t6ld
him that they would give it due. consi derati on.
Minutes of the regudkx meeting of.October 23rd were read
and as no objections were offered they were declared
approved ae read.
The matter of issuing a renewal license to the Woole)the
Pony Track.. at Pacific and Garvey was discussed. It w
decided to have Jerry Nichols contact. the parties th
signed the petition of protest against the issuance
the temporary six months. lieens.e.issued on May lot a
terminating on October 31st,1946. Mr..Nichols was as
to get the opinion of the.obj.ectore to.aseertain whe
after the six months experience they still considere

The final map of tract # 13964 ,the...Williamson and Gilmore
subdivision was brought up for discussion. Passage was
withheld awaiting futher correction of the map*

• Jerry Nichols brought up a suggestion that some provision
be made in building ordinance to establish minimum square
footage in 1 1/2 and 2 story buildings..The City Attorney
cited Ordinance #116 as. Javing alresidy established a
. minimum of 900 .square feet in ground floor area, which
would be the same for all types of single family dwellings*
a letter was read by the City Clerk. from City Engineer Ells,
recommending that a separate cash payment for ensuring the
the .installation of fire hydrants on subdivisions be skirted.
He suggested that the deposit would be used by.the City to
pay the water companies for the installation of the hydrants
in accordance with instructions of the City Engineer. He
proposes to charge each..subdivider on the basis of -the number
of feet of lot frontage within ' the subdivision at the rate
of ZZc:eats per front foot and to have the. subdividertat the
time -he. made the deposit ,file a letter authorizing the City
to use the fronds for the installation of the fire hydrants
required and then the City. in ,_turn, would pay the water
companies for the installation of the hydrants.
City Attorney Smith said in answer that the hydrants were a part
of the improvements that the subdivider agreed to install
and should be- included in =the. money.. deposited guaranteeing
the completion of the subdivision improvements and that -
funds on depostt °could be withheld until .the installation
of Lydrants had been made as -well as other. improvements..
As there was no fuhter business to consider the meeting
was declared adjourned.
