Absent Councilmen Daniels and -Schabarumo 7;,etter, was read prom Sunkist 47ater Co. bidding for franchise in terri- tory covered by their service. They authorized the appropriation by the City of fund., .ariountin�; to $105.31 that. are held by the City on account of two remittances made by -them in error for franchise tax bef'cr.e they had been operatingunder francihise'* Being the only bid receiv-ed the Council decided to accept same and therefore • (Ordinance -- covering; the franchise was brought up for action. 1Councilrrlan Ilan Horn moved to adept and motion was seconded by Hurst* • Vote et6od a, follows: L Ayes, Batchelder, Hurst, Van horn x1lbsent nanield, Scriabarum Noes none The final map ' of Truman Johnson's subdivision in 'Tract 12785 was � brcught`before the Council.. It was moved by H`uist to approve this map subject to the p6sting, of cash bond by subdivider to guarantee the completion of street'imprcvements , some of the work already having been done.. Van Horn seconded the notion and it was carried. Floyd Gelvi n, ' insurance man of West Covina appeared before the Council and aked them to consider 'a plan to place all' of the City insurance with a 'Uest Covina Insurance Tens Association wfaich he would indaavor" to orgarize. He believes that this business s'Iiou.ld go to residents of "+ale: t Covina and that such an avesociation would serve the business needs of the city better by analysing and laying cut an orgatized plan of protection. He said that the busine'ss'would be spread equally over the members of the association and less trouble would be had by the City in presenting claims and placing insurance. He was told that futhe.- consideration would be given to his plan." Final map was presented on Woods Mactyre'- subdivision on Tract 13867. Cash bond andinspection fee deposit had 'been Yrade. Can recommendaticn. of City Engineer J.C. Ells Councilman Hurst moved that the map be approved. Lotion was seconded 'by Van Horn and' faction carried. Letter from G.D. Harbert was read by the City *Clerk concering flood control conditions on Grange Ave. nearorlaiian'. It was decided that 17 the be,t -way to handl@- the matter was to have 'the City Engineer and the City Inspector go over the matter on the ground with G.B. Harbert and L,r. Yeeker subdivider of Tract 13876 and come to some agreement a 'to what was necessary. A letter from Stan -Mar Miotel was read asking for permission to erect a sign advertising their Motel.
