Meeting was called to order at 8P.M. by the Mayor.

Frank Howard requested a varience for a trailer court on his
property.in addition to the motel already established,•ihere.
He said.that he had a lot of -ground available i.n..the back
where trailers would not be seen from the highway and .that the
trailers.would be placed 45 feet apart between trees.,
The matter of a proper licen.e charge for such:a project was
discussed with him and the council promised to investigate as
to what .was done about the fees charged in otheRcommunities.
Louis De Laye bought in a map showing location of propesed
building do part of Lot 1 Tract 2371-300 feet east. of Barranca
on Garvey.
(`rdinanee #125 granting him the permission to erect such a
`' building, subject to the correct and exact legal description
being furnished to make the ordinance legally complete, rags moved
by Van Horn and seconded by Hurst.
Vote stpdd as follows: Ayes -Batchelder -Hurst -Van -Horn

Mr. Cotter announced that in the proposed subdivision.on Tract.
142507Lot 196-E.J. Baldwin's fifth subdivision, t1lat'lot #18
had been increased by'20 feet and that lot 19.had been reduced.
by a like amount. Map and plans were held for futher consideration..
Mr. `m.. Cook presented final t ra.ct map tcoyering his subdivision
on Tract 14013.. It wp,s moved by Councilman Van Horn,that this
/map be accepted subject to the subdivider filing a' cash or
:r corporate sur$ty bond with %ity and, that ,.the City Clerk be
authorized to sign said map when bond is filed and also subject
to changing the wording on the map from "future street widening"
to "dedication for future street".
The motion yvas seconded by Hurst and passed by unanumous vote.
The matter of the Fortner subdivision on Tract 14070-was bought
before the Council bJ Mr. Cotter, Hurst moved that the tentative
map as revised will be approved, when 'it shows Lark Ellen 10 feet
wider us a future 6-treet except, along lot 22 where no future
\,\_., street. widening will be required because of the proximity of
buildingsthereon�

Councilmen Hurst moved that they be paid and the motion was
seconded by Van Horn -motion carried.'
Mrs. Samuels of the E1 'Estateswas prese:nt,. It was her un-
derstanding that the City of West Covina WzLs,. to check and pro-
"cess the subdivision maps on their proposed subdivision on So.,
"F' Citrus Ave* City Engineer Ells told her that in Los Angeles
County the customary procedure in subdivisions was to have the
County check the maps. She agre rt h �i'd .maps the next day to. County
Minutes of the regular meetings of May 22 and June 5th were
read and stood appreved as read.
Mayor Batchelder pre::ented the following bills to the City
Council for approval:

These bills were for work done on truck purchased for the City
and the bills were rendered personally to the Mayor because he
_had ordered the repair part work done for the City. -
Van Horn moved that the City Clerk be authorized to pay these
bills and motion was seconded by Hurst -motion passed.
Po.lice,,Commissioner Van Horn recommended the purchase of a
motorcycle for the City Police Dept. Hurst moved and Van Horn
seconded -notion carried. No further business was brought up
so the meeting w a declared adjourned.
