of the City Council of West Covina,
May let. 1946.
Meeting called to order at 8 P.M.
Present- Batchelder, Hurst, Daniels, Van Horn.
Absent- Mossberg.
A revised second...tentative map of the Cook,Herring,Thackery
subdivision on Tract 14013 was submitted for approval.
The following changes had.been made.. Pima Ave had been widened to 60 feet
and 10 feet was shown to be dedicated for future street on Lark
Ellen. The same deed restrictions that were submitted with first
map accompanied this map.
Daniels moved acceptance of this second map and the deed restrictions.
Motion was seconded by Van Horn and.earried by unanimpus vote.
Minutes of the meeting of April 16th and.April 17th. were read and
stood approved as per corrections made on same.
The revised tract restrictions of F.R.Wilson.on.his proposed sub-
division on Tract Ho.13865 were offered.. City Attorney Smith
read the restrictions and recommended approval. Approval was moved by
_Daniels and seconded by Hurst. Motion passed.
Minutes of April 24th meeting were read and.were declared approved
A discussion as to a suitable location for a small shopping center
near tVe new subdivision projects took place. It was.decided that
a study of the trends in population would be necessary in order to say
make a wise decision.
Mr Cotter spoke of a plan of Mr. N. Genetty for the.. building of a
restaurant at 2389 W. Garvey- stating.that the proposed location is
outside of the proposed business zone. Discussion followed as to the in-
advisability of extending at this time the proposed business zone in
view of the subdivision trends and development of the City. It ap-
pearing that Mr. Cotter should continue with his study of development
trends and a study of a commercial center in the City such as a
neighborhood shopping center which would best serve the residents of
such sections now being subdivided.
It was moved by Daniels and seconded by Van Horn that Mr. Cotter be given
further time to continue his.studies and make recommendations to the
City Council Az Td rurr/-R business zoning in view of present develop-
ment trends before the Council attempts to take any definite action
in this respect.
This wae..nassed by unanimous vote.
The following motion was then offered bey Councilman Hurst.
• "That the.City Engineer, Mr.,T.. C. Ells, thorized to make and sign
an application to.the Federal Works Agency for an advance of funds to
lend financial assistance in preparing plans for the establishment of
a municipal water system in the City of West Covina."
Motion was seconded by Van Horn and passed by unanimous vote.."
As there.was no other business the meeting adjourned.
