City Treasurer Sayers read hex monthly report and as no objections were offered the report was declared approved. The.monthly Police Department=report was passed among the Councilmen for individual reading. A letter .was read from: the Los. ' Noes- None'. .. . Absent- None. Chief of Police Robert E.Lee asked 'the City ' Council•• to .•consider the pur- chase .of:.a. short :wave radio outfit for the Police Department. He stated . .that the initial cost would be about •$1,500.00 and that eventually it 0 would bring revenue enough in added fines -to more-than'lpay for itself and it's operation. No action was.taken on this but it,was taken under consideration by the Council. The removal of the eucalyptus trees.. and stumps` from `Rowland Ave. was dis- cussed and it was decided to await further information as to the work and its cost from Mr.Wise.
