It was moved by Councilman Mossberg and seconded by Councilman Van Horn
that the bills read be paid and motion -passed by unanimous vote.
City Treasurer Sayers read hex monthly report and as no objections were
offered the report was declared approved.
The.monthly Police Department=report was passed among the Councilmen for
individual reading.
A letter .was read from: the Los. Angeles -•County :Board of Supervisors asking
that West Covina._ appoint brie .of t'_s.`offici,als: Rto act as a representative
to the newly created Centennial Authority committee of the proposed Laos
Angeles., County's California Centennial ;Celebration '194.9=1950..,a.:•.

Ordinance #107 which. prohibits drinking alcoholic- b.eve=rages- on the high-
ways of the :City; of .WestCovina'. _eitYier in or out of automobiles was

the mojsion was seconded by Councilman Mossberg. The vote="stood as foll-

Chief of Police Robert E.Lee asked 'the City ' Council•• to .•consider the pur-
chase .of:.a. short :wave radio outfit for the Police Department. He stated
. .that the initial cost would be about •$1,500.00 and that eventually it 0
would bring revenue enough in added fines -to more-than'lpay for itself
and it's operation. No action was.taken on this but it,was taken under
consideration by the Council.
The removal of the eucalyptus trees.. and stumps` from `Rowland Ave. was dis-
cussed and it was decided to await further information as to the work and
its cost from Mr.Wise.
As there was po further business the -.meeting was adjourned.'
