05-10-1944 - Regular Meeting - Minutes• • • is MINUTES OF MEETING OF CITY COUNCIL OF WEST COVINA... CALIFORNIA. Held at City Hall on May 10, 1944. Meeting called to order by Mayor Batchelder at 7:45 P.M. Minutes of the meeting of April 17, 1944 were -read and approved with exception:_ of paragraph which mentioned that the Mayor had been•elec.te'd to serve a term of four years. This was ordered to be changed to read a term of two years..... Councilman Daniels reported -that Th_- da(ii6g c wii,rkL;!bm the .Willow Street:Wash the resolution was not followed exactly because it had to be put back.in normal condition to prevent the backing up of water on the land of bther's which cause .& damage suitg. He asked the board"to grant approval of the action and it was given.... Councilman Daniels made a-motioh that arrangements be made to.control weeds. It was sconded by councilman Mossberg and the motion was carried by unanimous vote.... Treasures report was read by treasureeSayers, and approval was passed by -.Council.... Councilman Van Horn made a notion that two filing cabinets be purchased for the'Highway..Department, motion seconded by 'Coucilman Daniels,and carried by unanimous vote...... The following bills were read and Councilman Daniels moved -that they be approved and paid. Motion was seconded by Councilman.Van Horn and carried by unanimous votes,..... .
