The City Council.of the City of West Covina,met, March 10, 1943, at
361 West State Higriway. All members being present Except Council-
man Mossberg.
The minutes of the meetings of February 10, and 25, were read and
approved..

man Batchelder, seconded by Councilman Herring, were allowed and

Resolution No. 60, entitled a resolution asking the Regional Planning
Commission of the C6apty of Los Angeles to assist the City of
West Covina in zoning the City, was offered by Councilman Herring,
seconded by Councilman Batchelder, and was unanimously adopted.
It was moved by Councilman Kendall, seconded by Councilman Batchelder,
duly put and carried that the La Puente Water Company be granted
(OVER)
a permit to canstruct 'a pipe line across the City lot on Calif.
Avenue.
The Clerk read a letter -from Mr. Harry -E. McCutche'on 's'tatiri'g. that his
property had been dams.ged by the storm end demanded $200.00
damages. The letter was turned over to the City Attorney to be
answered.
The clerk read a letter from Mr. Ralph S. Vanderhoof asking the City
to place a light in front of his house, and after some. discussion
It was decided that this could.not be done.
A letter from the police force asking for a, straight 10% raise in
talary was read, except'Mr. Wheeler who asked for a $10.00 per
month .raise. After some discussion it was decided not to act
on this at, this meeting, but wait until the next regular meet-
ing.
Ordinance No. 99, entitled an ordinance of the City..of Wiest Covina
changing the name of State Highway to Garvey Blvd.. ,came up for
third and final passage, and was adopted by the following votes;
Ayes: Reindall, Batchelder, Herring and Robinson.
Noes: none
Absent: Mossberg.
Ordinance No.'99, entitled an ordinance of the City,of'West Covina
to prevent the building of any open fires for burning,trash,
rubbish and combustible materials after 1100 A.M. without a
permit came up for its third and final passage, and'w'as adopted
by the following votes;
Ayes: Kendall, Batchelder, Herring and Robinson
Noes: None
Absent: Mpssberg.
Thera being no.further business to come before the -Council the meet-
ing was -duly adjourned.
