April 15, 1940
The newly elected council of the City of vilest Covina, met April 15,
194o, for the purpose of organization. The following Councilmen
being present; L. Reeg, Clyde Batchelder, D.H. Robinson, C. P.
Kendall and J.K. Hedges..
Upon motion by Councilman R e d<seconded by Councilman Hedges, duly
put and carried, Councilman Robinson was elected Mayor for a term
of two years.
Mayor Robinson thereupon appointed the following to act on the
various committees;
Councilmen Hedges and Kendall to act as the auditing committee;
Councilmen Batchelder, Hedges and Reeg to act on the Street committee;
Councilmen Reeg as the Police Commissioner.
Upon motion by Councilman Reeg, seconded by Councilman Batchelder,
duly put and carried, permission was granted to the Covina High—
lands association to erect a sign at the corners of Citrus and
Baranca where they intersect the State Highway, marked, "Covina
Highlands"
There being no further business to come before the council the
meeting was duly adjourned.
