The City Council of the City of West Covina, met April 12, 1940,at
1543 West State Highway. Those present :`+Jere: J.K. Hedges, 'L. Reeg,
C.H. Coffman, D.H. Robinson and.F.L, blowder. Absent: None
The minutes of the meetings of March 13, and March 27, 1940, were
read and approved.
The following bills were presented by the Clerk and on motion by
Councilman Reeg, seconded by Councilman Hedges, and carried, were
allowed and ordered paid.

Upon motion by Councilman Reeg, seconded by Cour!,jlman Coffman,
duly put and carried, a claim for damages against the City of
West Covina in the amount of �$51,000.00 filed by .,nola. H.Bow-man
and B.k. Bowman be referred to the City Attorney for axppropriate
action.
Upon motion by Councilman Coffman, seconded by Councilman Reeg, and
carried the Council proceeded to canvass the votes cast at the
municipal election on April 9, 1940, and finds as follows:
That at said election the total num'oer of votes cast r�as 343:
That the following candicia.tes for the Council received the following
votes:

Mayor Mowder _then declared that D.H. Robinson, Clyde +J.Batchelder
and Charles P. Kendall be declared elected to the City Council
for a' term of four years;
That C.C.,Toland be declared elected to the office of City
Clerk for.., term of four years;
That kern.V. Sayers be declared elected to -the office of City
Treasurer,for a term of four years.
It was moved IQy Councilman Hedges, seconded by Councilman Reeg, that
a vote of ,aD_oreciation be extended to the. two .retiring Council-
men, : Mr. :Coffman and I'r. lHowder, for their good work in the
past year- on behalf of the City of 4est Covina.
Upon motion by Councilman Coffman, seconded by Councilman Hedo•es,
duly put and carried, Councilman Rued was authorized to have
the Palm gees in front .of Wlr, Vonder Lobe's palce removed.
There being nQ further business to come before the Council the
meeting was adjourned.
