The City Council of the City of AVest Covina, met February 14, 19401
at 1843 .'Vest State Highway. Those present were: D.H. Robinson,
L. Reeg and C.H. Coffman.: Absent: F.L. powder and-J.K-. Hedges.
Mr.Nlowde.r being absent Mr.. Coffman. acted as chairman.
The minutes of the.meeting of January 17, 1940, were read and
approved.
The following.bills were read by the clerk and on motion by Council-
man Reeg, seconded by Councilman Robinson, and carried, were
allowed and ordered paid.

Mr. L.J. Esrey, Highway engineer of the Regional planning commission
was present at this meeting and asked the Council td to'approve
a map of the proposed highways in the city of 1.1est Covina, which
he presented. Upon motion of Councilman Reeg, seconded by Council-
man Robinson, duly put and carried, said map was approved.
Dr._Elrxier Ding was present at this meeting and asked the Council
for permission to put a Rotary sign at the intersection of
Citrus and the State Highway, and upon motion by -Council-
man Reeg, seconded by Councilman Robinson, duly put and
carried, said permit was granted..
The Clerk read a letter from -Mr. Geo. R..Lenarron Right of Way
man for the Metropolitan 'Vater District, asking for per-
mission to install a 36" water line across various streets
in the City of ;'Vest Covina, and upon motion by Councilman
Robinson, seconded by Councilman Reeg, duly put and carried
-the Clerk was instructed to write a letter to 11r. Geo. W.
Jones stating that the City of West Covina would Would
issue the same permit as the County in Mowing 'the said
bletropolitan Water District to cross our streets.
Ordinance No. 79, entitled an 'Ordinance amending Ordinance 31,
Came up for its third and final reading and was adopted by
the following votes:
Ayes: Robinson, Reeg and Coffman
Noes: None
Absent: Mowder and `edges
Ordinance No. 50,'entitled and ordinance amending ordinance No. 31,
came up for its second reading.

Resolution .No. 50, entitled a_ resolution calling a municipal,
elec,tiwi,' to' be. held 'bn' April 9, '1940; was offered by Couhcil-
man' Reeg, 6rr se�cded by' Councilman Robinson, and. was :unanimous*
ly, adopted.
There being nofurther.business--to coma before the .Council.the
meeting was -adjourned.
