The City. Council of .the City_ of West Covina, met December 6,. 1939, at
1543 West State Highway. .Those present were: F.L.,_Mowder, L. Reeg,
C.H. Coffman .and D.H. Robinson._

Upon motion by Councilman Coffman, seconded by Councilman Robinson,
duly put and carried, the salary of Nellie Reeg was raised from
$75.00 to $100.00 per month effective as of December 1, 1939.
On application of R.E. Mathews for a variance on lots 32,33 gzdz�*;
Tract No. 11799, for the purpose of erecting a Cafe and gasoline
service station, and on motion by Councilman Coffman, seconded
by Councilman Robinson, duly put and carried, that said application
be granted and that an ordinance be adopted providing for said
variance.
Ordinance No. entitled an_ordinance amending ordinance No.31
entitled An ordinance providing.for the creation in the, City
of West Covina, of zones consisting �of various districts and
prescribing the classes of buildings, structures and improve-
ments in the said.several zones and the.uses thereof_" by
adding thereto anew section to be` numbered Section No. 12,
came up for its first reading.
On -application of-R.E. Mathews for."a building -permit as per plans
presented to the Council -of the. -City of .West. Covina', for the
erection of Gasoline Service S'tation and*Cafe with living
quarters iri rear on lots 32,33 ApkW, Tract No. 11798, and
on motion by Councilman Reeg, seconded .by Councilman
coffman and carried, that said permit be issued in accordance
with the ordinances of West Covina.
There being no further business to come before the Council the'..
meeting was duly-adjpurned.
