April 25, 1939
The City Council of the City of West Covina met April 25, 1939, at
1943 West U&te Highway. Those present Were: L.Reeg, F.L. Mowder,
C.H. Coffman, D.H. Robinson and J.K. Hedges.
The question of granting a permit for the erection of an Auto Court
on the property of F.P. Harris at the corner of Vincent Street,
in accordance with plans filed with the City Clerk, came up for
consideration. A letter of protestidg the building of said
Auto Court from A.L. Crites was read by the Mayor. After some
discussion a secret ballot was taken and the vote was, yes 2. and
no three. Petition denied.
• May Mowder read over the contract of the City of West Covina with the
County Fire Warden for fire protection for the City, it being
necessary to designate or specify the manner in which fire calls
in the City of Nest Covina shall be verified before the San Dimas
Fire Department will respond; It was moved by Councilman Reeg,
seconded by Councilman Coffman, duly put and carried that, the
such verification be made by the Police bepartment, and that the
City Clerk be authorized to notify Mr. K:P. Carter, assistant
Fire Warden at San Dimas to this effect.
Mr. Reeg reported that good progress was being made in painting the
center line of the streets of the City.
There being no further business to come before the Council the
meeting was duly adjourned.

West Covina of April 25, 1939, are duly recorded on page 495
of the book of record of said Council.
