The City Council of the City of West Covina met March 29, 1939, at
1943 West State Highway. Present Were: J.K. Hedges, C.H. Coffman,
D.H. Robinson, L. Reeg. and F.L. Mowder. Absent: None.
_ The minutes of the meeting of March 8, 1939, were read and approved.
The meeting was called for the purpose of considering an application
by Brooks and'Carpenter to build an auto court at the corner of
Vincent Ave. and the State Highway. There was considerable dis-
cussion and argument of the question but no action taken.
Ordinance No. 75, entitled an ordinance requiring the construction
of Street, B-dewalks, curbs and gutters in subdivisions before
acceptance of same by the City Council, was offered by Council-
man Coffman, seconded by Councilman Hedges, duly put and Unan-
imously carried, and had its first reading.
There was considerable discussion as to whether the city should buy
a machine for marking a white line in the center of the streets
or should contract with the County to do this work. No action
was taken.
there being no further business to come before the council the
meeting was duly adjourned.
The foregoing minutes of the meeting of the Council of the City of
West Covina of March 29, 1939, are duly recorded on page 492
of the book of record of said Council.
