January 11, 1939
The City Council of the City of West Covina met January 11, 1939, at
1843 West.State Highway. Those present were: J.K. Hedges, L. Reeg,
F.L. Mowder, D.H. Robinson and C.H. Coffman.
The minutes of the meeting of December 14, 1938, were read -and
approved.
The following bills were presented by the Clerk and on motion by
Councilman Hedges, -seconded by Councilman Robinson, duly put
and carried, the bills were allowed and ordered paid.

Upon motion by Councilman Reeg, seconded by Councilman Hedges, duly
put and carried, a permit was granted to H.B. Adair to build a
20' rock and oil drivei,ray for Mr. Meeker, as per map and profile
presented by Mr. Adair, and subject to investigation -by Mr..
Mowder.

A claim for $3000.00 filed by the Pacific Rock and Gravel Co. was
read by the -Clerk,' and on motion by Councilman Coffman, seconded
by Councilman Hedges, duly put and carried, said claim1was
referred to the City Attorney to answer.
The periodical estimate for partial payment for November 1938, 'No.l
and No. 2 for December, 1938, for $1870.25 and 14671.03 respect-
ively, totaling $16541.2$.for two months was presented and upon
motion by Councilman Coffman, seconded by Councilman Reeg, duly
put and carried, the Clerk was instructed to make a check to S.M.`', _
Milovi.ch for this amount for street paving.. oV
A motion was offered by Councilman Reeg, seconded by Councilman
Robinson, duly put and carried, that the City of West Covina
hereby authorize any owner .of land within the City Limits of •
West Covina to place his own . "for sale" sign or permit his
real estate broker to,place "For Sale" sign on said owners •
land advertising said owners products or real property by said
owner or broker; said sign nmtto exceed 3 X 4 feet in size;.
said owners name or said brokers telephone number and address
but not his name, may appear on said sign, and no more than one
sign may be placed on ,any one tract .of land adjoining any one
street. The resolution governing signs passed at the December
14th meeting is hereby repealed.
There being no further business to come before the Council the
meeting was duly adjourned.

West Covina of January 11, 1939, are duly recorded on pages.485-
and 486 of the book of record of said council.
