The City Council of the City of West Covina, met November 9, 1938, dt
1843 Nest State Highway. Those present: C.H. Coffman, J.R: Heeges,
L. Reeg, D.H. Robinson and F.L. Mowder. Absent: None.
The minutes of -the-meeting of October 12, 1938, were read and
approved.
The following billswere presented by the Clerk and on motion by
Councilman Hedges, seconded by Councilman Reeg, duly put and
carried, were allowed and ordered paid.

A Motion was made by Councilman Robinson, seconded by Councilman
Reeg, duly put and carried, that motorcycle officer Ham Having
served six months probation as motorcycle officer and his
services having been satisfactory, that he be placed on the
regular motorcycle officer force as a regular motozeyele
employee in that capacity.

A petition was presented to the Council, signed by Morrow, Heath,
Swallow, Foster, Curtis, Col.trin, McChesney, Harris and E.T.
Coffman, requesting the City Council to raise the road on
Vincent Street between Puente Street and the Pacific Electric
R.R. to keep storm grater from running through the property of
the ranchers.
Resolution No. 37, entitled a resolution entering into an agreement
with S.M. Milovitch for the performance of work as set out in
said agreement which is on file with the City Clerk.
Resolution No. 38 entitled a resolution appointing George W. Jones
Road Commissioner of Los Angeles County as Engineer for the City
of 'Vest Covina, was offered by Councilman Reeg and was unanimous-
ly adopted.
Ordinance No. 73, entitled an ordinance prohibng the discharge
of firearms in the,City of Nest Covina withia permit, was put
on its final passage, and was adopted by the following vote:to-wit
Ayes: Mowder, neeg, Hedges, Coffman and Robinson
Noes: None
Absent: None
Ordinance No. 74, entitled an ordinance prohibiting certain portions
Sunset Avenue, Hollenbeck Avenue, Azusa Avenue and Baranca St.
from use by any vehicle exceeding 20000 pounds was put on its
final passage and was adopted by the following votes: tO-wit,
Ayes: Mowder, Reeg, Hedges, Coffman -and Robinson
Noes: None
Absent: None
There being no further -business to come before -the Council the.
meeting was duly adjourned.

'Jest Covina of November 9, 1938, are duly recorded on pages 490-
481 of the book of,record of said council.
