West Covina, California,
April 18, 1938.
The newly elected Council of the City of West Covina held a special
meeting on April 18, 1938, immediately following the canvassing
of the election returns, for the purpose of Organization. Those
present were: P:R: Jackson, F.L. Mowder, L. Reeg, J.K. Hedges
and C.H. Coffman. Absent None.
Upon motion motion by Councilman Reeg, seconded by Councilman
Coffman, duly put and carried, Percy R. Jackson was elected
mayor for a term of years.
Mayor Jackson appointed Councilmen Hedges and Mowder on -the auditing
• committee, Councilmen Reeg, Coffman and Hedges on the Street
committee, and Mr. Reeg was appointed police Commissioner.
• It was moved by Councilman Mowder, seconded by Councilman Coffman,
duly put and carried that Lance D. Smith be appointed as City
Attorney for a term of four years.
There being no further business to come before the Council the
meeting was duly adjourned.
The foregoing minutes of the meeting of the Council of the City of
West Covina of April 19 1938, are duly recorded on page 458 of
the book of record of said Council.
