The City Council of the City of "est Covina met April 18, 1938, it
the West Covina Police Court Room, 1843 West State Highway.This
was a special meeting called for the purpose of canvassing the
election returns of the municipal held April 12, 1938. and to
install the newly elected officers. Those present were: P.R.
Jackson, J.K. Hedges, F.L. Mowder, C.H. Coffman and L. Reeg.
Absent None.
The Council finds upon canvassing the returns of said Municipal
election as follows:
• That at said election the total number of votes cast was 264.
That the following candidates for the Council r6beived the
• following votes:
Percy R. Jackson,for City Council 4 year term 197
Leonard Reeg If If " If If " 248
James K. Hedges, If if If " " " 174
Dave Robinson 8 " if If it If 90
F.P. Harris It " " It " 'i 73
Charles Waldrip " "_ If If it If 6
Mayor Jackson then declared that Percy R. Jackson, J.K. Hedges,
and Leonard Reeg be declared elected to the City Council for
a term of four years.
Mr.. --and Mrs Crite-s`came'before-the Council:: -and asked that the permit
for building an auto court granted them several months before
.which had expired, be rewened. said request was granted.
There being no further business to come before the Council the
meeting was dult adjourned.
The for4going minuted of the meeting of the Council of the
City of West Covina, of April 18, 1938, are duly recorded
on page 457 of the book of record of said Council.
