The City Council of the City.of West
Covina met April 13, 1938, at
the Ploice Court Room 10543, 'Nest
State Highway. Those present
were: C.H. Coffman, P.R. Jackson,
L. Reeg, F.L. Mowder, and
J.K. Hedges. Absent none.
The minutes of the meeting of March 9, 1938, were read and
approved.
the following bills were presented by the Clerk and on motion by
Councilman Mowder, seconded by Councilman Hedges, duly put and

carried were allowed and ordered

Mayor Jackson presented a letter from W.A. Runyan protesting the city
leaving dead eucalyptus trees standing in the center of the drive
on Rowland Avenue, thereupon by motion by Councilman Coffman,seconded
by Councilman Hedges, Mr. Reeg was appointed to engage some one to
remove said trees.

Upon motion by. Councilman Mowder, seconded by Councilman Coffman,duly
put and carried, the Treasurer was authorized to Sent a safety
deposit box at the Covina National Bank, Covina, alifornia, said
box to be rented in the name of the City of West Covina, and the
City Treasurer or the City Clerk•are authorized to ahve access to
same until further notice in writing to said Covina Nat'l Bank.
The Treasurer presented an agreement for the pledgec.of •further •se•curitie�
by the Covina Nat'l Bank to cover the.Cities deposits over and above
the present securities now held by.the City of West Covina, said
agreement providing for additional securities in the form of a U.S.
Treasury Bond in the amount of $10.000.00. Upon motion by Councilamn
Mowder, seconded by Councilman Coffman, duly put and carried the
Treasurer was authorized to execute said agreement with the Covina
National Bank. •
Resolution No. 25,' entitled a resolution adopting specifications for
the construction of cement curbs, gutters, side walks and other
Macadam pavement in the City of West Covina, California, was
offered by Councilman Hedges, seconded by Councilman Reeg, duly
put and carried,`.and was adopted by the following votes, to -wit;
Ayes: Reeg. Jackson, Mowder, Coffman, Hedges.
Noes: None
Absent: None.
Upon Motion by Councilman Reeg, seconded by Councilman Coffman, duly
put and carried; it was voted to donate $25.00 the Safety Council
of the Covina District.
Upon motion by Councilman Hedges, seconded by Councilman Coffman, duly
put and carried,- Mr. Mowder was authorized to purchase the -signs
for West Covina -City Limits.
There being no further business to come before the Council the meeting
was duly adjourned.
