The City Council of the City of West Covina
met January 12, 1938, at
the Police Court Room. 1843 West State
Highway. Those present -
,were: C.H. Coffman, F.L. Mowder, J.K.
Hedges. P.R.-Jackson and
L.-Reeg. --Absent: -None.
The minutes of the meeting of December S,
1937, and of the special
meetings of December 15, and 29, 1937.,
were read and.approved:
The following bills were presented by the
Clerk-and.on motion by
Councilman Hedges, seconded by Councilman
Coffman, duly put and
carried, were allowed and ordered paid.

Mr. & Mrs Mossberg were present at this meeting and asked for a
permit to build another auto court on
their property, and on
motion by Councilman Mowder, seconded
by Councilman Coffman,

duly put and carried, it was decided to take said permit under
advisement.

Resolution No. 23, entitled a resolution declaring Orange Avenue and
other streets in the City of West Covina to be a part of the County
system of Highways, was offered Councilman Coffman, seconded by
Councilman Hedges, and was unanirnously.adopted.

Upon motion by Councilman Mowder, seconded by Councilman Hedges, duly
put and carried, it'was voted to.pay Ralph Coolman and Jack Dean
$20.00 each for their labor in helping take care of City prisoners.
It was moved by Councilman Mowder,:seconded by Councilman Hedges, duly
and -.carried, that_ the officers be given one weeks .vacation with
pay, vacation to be taken when satisf actory;arrangements are
made with the chief of police.
Ordinance No. 70, entitled an Ordinance amending section 1 of Ordinance
No. 68,was put on its final passage and was adopted by the follow-
ing votes, to -wit:
Ayes: P.R. Jackson,.F.L. Mowder,L.Reeg.J..K.Hedges,C.H. Coffman
Noes: None •
Absent: None.
There being no further business to come before the Council the •
meeting was duly adjourned.

448-449 of the book of record of said Council.
